Upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1 + ATI videocard

Hello,
Is it possible to upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1 without downloading the complete image again?

I’ve got a OS 11.0 Full installation disk, so can i update to 11.1 via update manager, or do I have to download the image again?

Where can I see which ati videocards are supported now? At Ubuntu my ATI Radeon X1650 Pro runs successful with a “Proprietary Driver”, does 11.1 support my videocard? Because I want to install OpenSuse (instead of ubuntu) again.

*Hallo,

Note: My sytem:
AsRock K7VT4A+ Motherboard with AMD Sempron Thouroughbred (K7), ~1.7Ghz.
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro with 512 DDR RAM.

The graphics card should be no problem, you will have to d/load and
install the driver from the ATI/AMD site which will need the kernel
source/headers and gcc plus make ( all in the readme on the site)

However the upgrade path might or might not work.depending on what you
have installed on 11 and how it is configured.

I have done this and have a stable system on a couple of comps and my
laptop however it did take a bit of fiddling to get everything running
sweet YMMV.

Yes, 11.1 will support the Radeon X1650 with fglrx driver. If you haven’t gotten it working yet, let me know. I got it working on my system.
