updating GCC/G++/GDB on OpenSuse 10.2 box

Hello,

I am planning to upgrade my OpenSuse 10.2 box to 11.2 later this year, but for now I could really use the latest GCC/GDB versions. The ones of OpenSuse 10.2 are getting to old for me

Can anyone tell me what’s the best way to achieve this. In YAST software I don’t seem to find the latest GCC (4.4.0 or 4.4.1).

Well same question for my other OpenSuse 11.0 box, how to update GCC over there ?

many many thanks.

I suspect you’re not finding it for 11.0 and lower because it’s incompatible with those version’s kernels. GCC 4.4 is there for 11.1.

In any case, 10.2 is no longer supported; so you would be better installing a newer version first.

Where can I update my GCC to GCC 4.4 ? I’m on openSUSE 11.1 64bits, I’ve downloaded all updates, but my GCC is still at 4.3.
