After having updated from Leap to Tumbleweed, my plasma windows are no longer responsive. There is no top border to move them around, and keyboard shortcuts to resize and move them are no longer working.
My user screen is so jumbled up to be completely unusable, the attached picture shows what happens if I log in as root.
Any idea how to reset plasma to make it usable again?
The “big jump” from 15.5 to Tumbleweed might work, but it is often better to do small steps (15.5->15.6->Tumbleweed) as the package version differences are really big. 15.5 uses really old Plasma versions in comparism to the newest versions on Tumbleweed.
proper set of repositories? Removed all non official Tumbleweed ones? zypper lr -d
I upgraded following the instructions on opensuse’s website: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Migrate_Leap_to_Tumbleweed
I removed the 15.5 and added the Tumbleweed ones.
I logged into a root graphic session to understand whether the issue was with some user setting. Turns out root has no window decorations either and keyboard shortcuts don’t work.
This to me points to an issue with some library
