Hi,
I am using Firefox 3.6.24 version in openSUSE 11.3. Is there a way for me to upgrade to the latest version 19 of Firefox? Help would be very much appreciated.

openSUSE 11.3 went past its end-of-life in January 2011…what that
means is there is no longer any repos containing updated applications
of 11.3
so, the easy answer to your questions is: sure you can upgrade–but
not from an openSUSE 11.3 repo…
you can go to the mozilla site
<http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/> and download the version
19.2 source tarball …and, once you have provided all the software
libraries that the newer version depends on you will be able to
compile your new Firefox…
BUT, i would advise against that because your system IS vulnerable to
attacks, because you have had none of the hundreds of security
updates to any of the systems you use for over TWO years…
the vulnerabilities to a system that old is public knowledge…
personally, i would never use it connected to any network…
ymmv, but i would suggest you move to an updated version…
openSUSE 12.3 is the latest available, but personally i’ve not loaded
it yet (still too new for me)…
also supported is 12.2 and 11.4 Evergreen…

As 11.3 is past maintenance, you would have to build firefox yourself.
And it would be pointless, 11.3 has no updates to anything, so why
bother updating just one application?

Actually recent versions of Firefox are still available for 11.3 from the mozilla repository.
That does not mean that using 11.3 is a good idea though and your installation should be updated to stay secure but Firefox is not the problem at least.
Do yourself a favor, perform a 12.3 clean install. That avoids the upgrading circus from 11.3 -> 11.4 -> 12.1 -> 12.2 -> 12.3

You can try a direct upgrade, offline method. For sport 
If it fails, you install fresh instead.
