I installed OpenSuse this week. I had problems with KDE and XFCE. XFCE can’t wakeup after sleep or logout. KDE was very laggy and flickering even with right drivers. Then I installed cinnamont and there are much less problems now. But I have some small issues like flickering every 2 sec for 0.1-0.3 sec. I had zero problem with mint cinnamon and it is using 6.0.4 Opensuse is using 6.0.0. It is last version in yast. Is there anyway I can install 6.0.4?
Would not be it better to address your “flickering” problem?
When that is solved you can use whatever DE you want.
I am using nvidia 3090 and 550 drivers. In cinnamon screen stops rendering for 0.1 sec for every 2 seconds. I searched for the problem but couldn’t find a solution. In KDE screen color saturation slightly changes every frame when I move mouse or anything. It is stable when not moved. In XFCE when pc goes to screensaver or when I logout it either goes completly black and only exit is shoutting down with power button or it shuts itself down.
From what you post now I conclude that you want to follow my suggestion. But the title of this topic is still the same. And people without any Cinamon knowledge will still skip this, even even they are stars in graphical card problems.
So better start a new topic, with a good title that will draw the attention of the people you need with th appropiate key-words. Something like: Flickering problems with Nvidia type … card.
Sure, I will do that now. Thank you.
