updates today and right click is gone

running 10.3 32 w/KDE3.xx, all was smooth until three updates today (21 Oct 08)
via Open Suse Updater including one which installed a new kernel (and two a
very strange alpha/numeric string…what is that??)…after the reboot i have
no right click, at all…

No way to get to the right click menus. Dang frustrating. How to fix?

Or, have I been social engineered into a root kit???

I dunno, that update looked fishy to me so I didn’t install it.

I guess I shouldn’t have, but I did.
And, today the right click works. STRANGE!!
