Maybe @mrmazda got an update to his system today — but the update itself is from 2025-11-11, at least.

still holds!

When reading

https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.opensuse.org/thread/JWCJEAPARKWKCBVLLV7U5RI6O2G2ZQSE/

I guess the problems are due to changes in infrastructure… But why are there massive changes during the phase of roll-out of an distribution upgrade? Why don’t they keep it separated? Getting the infrastructure working and then doing the roll-out?

So what? — It is not merged, yet! And this poor situation is long-lasting.

The community can help to bump the versions of those in Package Hub.
But for the packages inherited from SLES, we can only wait for their employees to do something.

Hello Leap 16.0 users,

Maintenance updates for Leap 16.0 are being released, and the remaining pending requests are actively being processed. As an example, the mentioned Firefox update PR is being processed and was updated by the maintenance team yesterday.

We are currently dealing with some challenges on secondary architectures like Power and s390x, but these are known issues and being worked on.

If you want more insight into the ongoing maintenance and release work, you can follow the relevant sections in the Release Engineering meeting minutes:
https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.opensuse.org/

For users new to Leap, this is not Tumbleweed, don’t expect GNOME or Plasma version bump post release, these happen only with minor updates. You’ll get all security and maintenance updates from the SLES 16.0 General support + updates to packages maintained by community. There we expect slower start as community is getting used to new git worklow..

Please avoid spreading unnecessary worry or assumptions. Everything is moving forward.

Dear @lkocman !

Thank you very much for your reply and informative notice. Very appreciated!

Well, yes, of course! But I would have expected such a message from you without all that asking, querying, begging from user side. But good to know at last. Thank you, indeed!
