Updater applet giving me error!

I just tried to install an update and got this error:

PackageKit Error dep-resolution-failed: patch:libfreebl3-2236.noarch conflicts with libfreebl3.i586

What do I do? (And what does it mean?)

so what does that mean? What can I do?

We could do with some other 11.2 users trying this. All my 11.2 machines are _64
There is no patch available

Anyone? I’m still getting this issue.

It means that there are two possible similar updates, and that the
resolver doesn’t know which to apply. You have to tell it what to do

Thanks. Which one?

openSUSE-11.2-Update
or
openSUSE-11.2-Oss

Update will be the latest, so that one

I get an error that libsoftokn3-3.12.6-2.pm.6.2.i586 requires libfreebl3.

My choices are:

  1. deinstall “libsoftokn3-3.12.6-2.pm.6.2.i586” and install mozilla-nss-3.12.6-3.6-2.pm.6.2.i586 (with vendor change)

  2. Do not install libfreebl3 (the new version)

  3. Break libsoftokn3

What should I do?

(Thanks again for all your help, BTW)

Strange, I have both those packages

In yast you can try different option without committing - so I would see what you can figure out.
My info above is 11.3 by the way…

Could it be that the mozillanss it wants to install is 6.3 and the libsoftokn is 6.2? Will choosing option 1 install a 6.3 libsoftokn? Will it break anything else?

I hope it works. I chose option 1 and it says it went through fine, now I’m no longer getting the update error and when I check for libfreebl3, it says it’s there with version 6.3.

That was my thought, but I was hesitant to say - without the PC in my sweaty mitts it’s difficult to say.
I wonder if it will let you install the libsoftokn3 ?

Which is newer? Update, isn’t? Then update.

By the way, the thread “Subject: Unable to update security patch” is
this same problem.
