The updated version 1.0.26-125.1 of libasound2 (and libasound2-32bit) in the multimedia:/libs/openSUSE_12.2 repository is causing all sorts of applications to crash. Anybody know why this is and if it can be fixed?
Typically most users don’t have that repo added. I don’t.
Just toggle to the one from OSS/Updates
I have
libasound2-1.0.25-3.5.1.x86_64

Hi Carlos,
thanks for your reply but unfortunately your link doesn’t work. Can you post it again please?
Nick
I added the mmlibs repository because it contains functionality not available in the “standard” repositories. As a work-around I’d already downgraded to libasound2-1.0.25-3.5.1.x86_64 from the OSS/Updates repository but I’d still like to know what’s wrong in the updated version. If anyone knows or could tell me where I might get an answer, I’d be very grateful.
Thanks,
Nick
Not quite sure what functionality it is you require from that repo, but there we are…
You should report it
