Update Version of System.

Hi Guys, I have a doubt about of how upgrade the system, I have now the OpenSUSE 12.2 , but in the next days OpenSUSE 13.1 be released.

I can use

zypper dup

for upgrade from openSuse12.1 to Open SUSE 13.1?

Or what is the proper method to do this?

Thanks very much.

It is not recommended to do such a large jump. It can be done but you will have problems. Better to do a fresh install and just keep your data and home partition. Doing a fresh install also has the advantage of removing any of those programs we load and then never use. Make a list of programs you use regularly and then just re install once you get the system running. IMO It will take far less time then trying to fix things from jumping 3 versions.
