update, usb 3.0 no longer working

If you’re interested I have other posts for other problems from this morning, copy-pasta from the other one → https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/500690-upgrade-and-now-no-wireless

I upgraded to the latest available kde and kernel this morning:
I am running kernel 3.16.1-7.g90bc0f1-desktop

I’m unsure what package to even refer to for the version, but this one is:
kdebase4-openSUSE-13.1-6.13.2.x86_64

so after having upgraded and rebooted, the wireless, my 3.0 usb, and bluetooth no longer function. Furthermore I don’t have an icon for my bluetooth.
on another note I just noticed that my screen brightness stopped working as well(minor annoyance)

So for the usb 3.0 I don’t even know where to start, though I did start with google

I’m unsure what portion of dmesg is valid, so here is a chunk of it close to reference of loading usb:

Where should I be looking next?

so the hint here, was that during boot I had text in the top right just before logging in, complimented with the lsusb only showing two usb’s

This was fixed by modifying the boot loader:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" resume=/dev/disk/by-id/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx splash=silent quiet showopts acpi=off elevator=cfq cgroup_disable=memory"

the acpi=off was done in order to deal with the system not coming back from sleep properly. According to my system logs I attempted a few different configurations and reboots, however the changing of acpi=on is what finally did the trick.

so modify this in /etc/default/grub and run

 grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
