i upgraded my system from 10.3 to 11 and at once found out that i should do a clean install.
1:
network didnt work automatically but i had to configure my network card again (I uses a ethernet adsl modem)
and then i had to run knetwork manager and define a connection to make it connect to internet 
2:
my yast repositories got messed up
3:
mplayer got messed up ( it didnt find libdirectfb )
and so on …
so i recommend to everyone to do a clean install
and i encorage the opensuse team to make a better installer next time not just a more beautiful one
