Hi all! Updated my system yesterday to 20240515 and got a kernel 6.8.9-1-default with a bug. I thought it’s a well known issue Bisected: Games crash on 6.9rc5&6/6.8.9/6.6.30 if above 4g decoding/resize bar is disabled or not supported, fixed in 6.9 (#3343) · Issues · drm / amd · GitLab that affects me too as amd user. Now I’ve booted to previous 6.8.8 to get all work and I wanted to report it.
Thanks for the notification - to report a bug, you need to submit it through our bugzilla - https://bugzilla.opensuse.org (use the same credentials you used for the forums). That’s the way to get it in front of the developers so it can be addressed.
Welcome to the forums
Specific kernel versions can be kept using:
pavin@suse-pc:~> grep ^multiversion.kernels /etc/zypp/zypp.conf
multiversion.kernels = latest,latest-1,running,6.7.4-1-default
You can also try kernel-longterm
to see if that solves the issue.
Thank you. Reported the bug here 1224436 – games crushes on kernel 6.8.9-1-default. Hope I did it right
Nice! thank you, now I don’t worry I’ll left with unusable kernels
If the developers need additional info, they’ll definitely ask for it - and in my experience, are very good at helping you find the info they need if you’re unsure of where to look.
