Why its looking for an .RU mirror is odd considering I am in .AU

I don’t have an answer for that.

It looks like a temporary DNS issue for the “.ru” mirror. I suggest waiting a few hours, and then try again.

IIRC there is some unusual redirection required to enable the mirroring of TW’s update repo, which possibly that .ru mirror isn’t reflecting. As to why from .au it’s looking to .ru I can’t imagine.

To workaround, try changing the Update repo file’s baseurl to or from http://mirrorcache.opensuse.org/update/tumbleweed/ or to some specific nearby mirror, or disable the Update repo. More often than not there’s nothing in it.

I ended up disabling the repo as suggested.

Thanks all
