Update from 11.4 to 12.1 with mdadm-RAID, bridged network device, postgres, mysql

Hi!

I’ am also an early adaptor and would like to post my experience with the update.

The update-progress worked smoothly. But the problems began after reboot:

  • boot-Partition md0 was not recognized anymore, system stopped in emergency mode (boot.mount might be responsible)
  • network was not started anymore
. many services were not started also apache, sshd, samba, …
  • sky2-module throws kernel messages: eth0: hw csum failure
and gets not link at boot, noapic in grub helps for getting link
  • postgres db is not upgraded and the old version has to be installed for getting upgrade
  • mysql was not started, because of old parameter skip-locking

After switching to sysvinit-init, half of the problems disappeared: booting (md0), network start, service start.

Best regard,
Stephan

Report that in Bugzilla.

Hi,

Today I also tried to upgrade one of my systems and ran into some of the same problems with a raid and bridges. Did you already report it in bugzilla? I restored 11.4 so I don’t have any logs for a bug report.

Arjan

I just disabled systemd and almost everything works fine.
