Update 11.0->11.1: sound with root only

After update from 11.0 to 11.1 now sound is only available if I logged as root. A normal user has no sound (kaffeine, amarok) sometime some system sounds are played. What can I do? TIA, Ron.

Try adding a normal user to group audio, reboot, and test. There is guidance on how to do that here: SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE

Thanks for answer. I removed “audio” and played around with some settings. Now I seems to work but I don’t know really the reason.

Congratulations. Glad to read its working.

I recommend you take paper notes next time, and record what you are changing. Else it is chaos, and one never knows what is the cause and effect.
