After a series of unrelated problems with my mouse (that had nothing to do with suse) I opened a process but I don’t know what is it. It looks like a series of micro-post-its in the bottom of my desktop:
http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4409/snapshot4v.png
Also, I checked the option to start a new session every time I start KDE, but this keeps appearing.
Any idea of what is it? so I can quit it (or kill it, if necessary).
Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure, but it looks as if you might be running Knotes. You can get to it with:
Application Launcher -> Utilities -> Desktop -> Knotes
It allows you to have little sticky notes with reminders.
Nope, not knotes. Also, that menu is a right click over that yellow thing o.o
can you post the result of
top
so one can see how the process is called?

I am afraid we need a list of all processes here. Thus top is not enough, but* ps -ef* (or variations) will be.
Sorry for the late reply, here it is:

It looks like the Leave-A-Note widget
I inadvertently added this when setting up some other widgets and all my attempts to get rid of it basically kept adding new instances of it, in the end I renamed
/usr/lib/kde4/plasma_leave_note.so to plasma_leave_note.so.disabled &
/usr/share/kde4-services/plasma-applet-leavenote.desktop to plasma-applet-leavenote.desktop.disabled
After doing that, logging out and logging back in the widgets had changed from the yellow note icon to one with a big red X which when clicked on showed a message about not being able to find the files and allowed removal of the widgets
Not the most elegant way of fixing something and there’s probably a better way but not knowing of one I tried this thinking I could rename the files back if it caused a problem and it worked just fine without any issues that I could see
Knotes btw I believe sits in the tray not above the the panel where desktop widgets are displayed
The leave a note widget (which is independent as far as I remember) should be in the ribbon long the lower screen that comes out when you add a new widget to the desktop. However it should not be necessary to do this workaround. The widget should close normally after a right click on it. Seems some config is not correct. You might look for more info in the KDE forum directly?

It should give you the option on a right-click yeah … but it doesn’t as you can see from theoriginal poster’s screenshot, and what’s more I believe it isn’t the only widget that doesn’t have anything on the right-click menu for removing/disabling it
Could be some other way I just haven’t found it yet
Which version of OpenSUSE and which of KDE we are talking about? Just to understand.
Sorry for the late reply… The image shown is what happens when I right click on the icon. I forgot to mention before they being empty they contained some weird C (C++?) code. Also, OpenSUSE 11.4, KDE 4
I just deleted the activity and made a new one, so problem solved in the bad way xD
