UNinstall rss

i want to UNinstall programs which i DON’T USE
now i get this rediulis long list of applications that WILL be removed if i remove RSS/miro.

on that list are eg
yelp
susehelp
libtorrent rasterbar
libgnome

why does this happen?
is it such a crazy ubuntu program which NEVER can work on its own???

opensuse seems to have cut out a lot of normal/basic functionality or some crazy not intressed bunch of linuxprogrammers think they create a world but in fact destroy it
there are directories i cant even sort on date etc while that was never a problem BEFORE i used opensuse !!! (13.1 xfce)

Miro is not installed by default on openSUSE, you must have installed it from the Packman repository or using some other means.

It most certainly does not require or uninstall susehelp if you remove it.

Give us an example of this behaviour? Can you provide screenshots?

( You can put screenshots in http://www.imgur.com or http://paste.opensuse.org/ by clicking on the image button on the top right corner - you’ll get an URI as a result which you can copy/paste here )

I don’t have either of both installed here, and yes I do have yelp, susehelp and libgnome.

So please post what exactly you are trying to uninstall and how.

I don’t understand this question, so I cannot answer it.
What is such a crazy ubuntu program?

Please turn down your tone a bit.

I can sort directories by date just fine here with dolphin.
I don’t have XFCE installed so cannot test there.
But this is probably not an openSUSE, but an XFCE issue, if that’s not possible.

PS: If you think a package has wrong dependencies or experience a bug/missing feature, better file a bug report than rant here in the forums.
It might even get fixed then…

I don’t believe that /just/ removing miro tries to remove yelp or
susehelp. Please show code sample (like “zypper remove miro”)

Please prove it, give more details.

Yes, indeed. Ubuntu program? :-???

I do use xfce every day and I have not seen any problem with sorting
directories.

If it is true that it has wrong deps. Better ask your peers first

You are welcome here, but you should remember that this is a help forum for users. That means that your fellow users will try to help you, for nothing (but a “thank you” when your problem is solved is appreciated).

So please talk normaly. Trying to be rude, even to nobody in particular, will not increase the willingness of people to read your post further and to put effort in helping you.

i did NOT re-install yelp myself. this happend automatic.

About those crazy ubuntu programs: those build in progs that you can not remove is a way of making people crazy.
its funded on gnome3 and i had so much time if i wanted to remove eg ‘evolution’ or other gnome applications i got the same absurd long list of progs “depending” on that single one.
very often ‘desktop’ was mentioned.
I made my own solution by checking the “to remove” list and then “re-install” the bunch i did need.

But after ‘zeitgeist’ being TOTALY INREMOVABLE i got sick of those eager programmers who kill the WORLD by code.
programmers with an opinion are not perse ranting (talking out loud)
programming is being responseble for what people do with their computer
if people say “i have to ask my computer” i will advice them to use a brick next time.
about directory sorting, that is at least the “Desktop Search” which is so limited in use that i almost hate it.>:)
but in fuse(emulator for zx) i should be able to sort on ‘type’ but its not available.
I will try to make a screenshot when i come around such ‘blocked what i used to do’ moment

btw, i do some coding my self as a hobby:
made relocatable, not my font driver, just a rewrite of the installer. previously i helpt making the font and driver smaller.
