Unfinished Installation help

For various reasons my 12.2 installation was problematic on my nfs file server (installed into a raid partition, whilst preserving existing raid partitions).
But anyway, the system is basically up and running, and I can log in remotely via ssh and do everything I want.

However, the original installation has not completed properly since it does not start up a local x server, and I am not sure how to get such a basic thing going!
I am also not too sure if there’s anything else not set up that may trip me later.

So, is there a way to check the installation steps, and how do I get X running automatically (kde is the default installed desktop)?

Thanks in advance…

Difficult for us to tell without being in front of (or having access to) your machine.

Anyway, you could try checking the consistency with

zypper ve

This will try to correct any inconsistent packages or missing dependencies.

If the system is stable, you could also just try installing a desktop pattern. (Of course, you’ll need to make sure you have any required repos configured first.)

For example

zypper in -f -t pattern xfce

or

zypper in -f -t pattern kde4
