Unetbootin+opensuse 11.1 Beta 4

Hey, the title says it all. I tried to install 11.1 beta 4 with unetbootin from usb but got nowhere since it checks for DVD/CD media which is not present. Any way to make the Live CD work from USB?

Any possible way at the moment to install 11.1 beta 4 with USB? I have a CD/DVD Drive, but have no spare CDs!

Any one knows about this?

linuxrc in the initrd of the liveCD is programmed to look back into the livecd for the files. It can be edited, but it’s a pain.

Better, use openSUSE-11.1-Beta4-NET-i586.iso and do a minimal net install. Then add the repos & go on from there.

What repos would need to be added?

Index of /factory/repo/oss
Index of /factory/repo/non-oss
&
Index of /update/11.1

Then go to: Welcome to openSUSE-Community.org - openSUSE-Community and read about restricted formats.
Then use: Additional YaST Package Repositories - openSUSE
for:
Packman
vlc
video card

When GM is released, we move from factory repos to 11.1 repos throughout.

Here’s mine for 11.0 because that’s where I am ATM(I have similar for 11.1):

Note: I turn these off & on as needed; example, I only use anubisg1 for a special driver and some are dups coming off different servers.
I’m not recommending all those, just the ones at the top of the post.

Have fun…

I just tried the network install from USB but it won’t let me load any modules so I can’t use network for install…

also if you still get the same issue… try changing config.isoclient to config.kde.isoclient [or config.gnome.isoclient] but you need to delete the original config.isoclient prior to this ofcourse
