hi, im running opensuse v11.0, when i go to add a program the box which
i have to press to agree to install is below the bottom line of my
screen and therefore i cannot add programs this way, i have resized my
monitor res. but still no luck, im using a toshiba equium with 1280x800
screen. any help would be great.
I haven’t seen the installation screen yet. If it is the similar to
11.0’s, I’d try to include the option vga=0xNNN in the boot line, where
NNN equals:
317 (792 decimal) = 1024 x 768 x 24-bit (64k) colors;
316 (791 decimal) = 1024 x 768 x 16-bit (32k) colors;
as the installer may be trying to use 1280 x 1024 and your LCD monitor
is not resizing it.
Google for “linux vga boot options” and you’ll find many other
options.
I may be complicating this unnecessarily. At the boot screen you can
change resolution by pressing F3 (see ‘Installation/11.1 DVD Install -
openSUSE’ (http://en.opensuse.org/Installation/11.1_DVD_Install) ). Did
you try that?
