I’m trying to remove hddtemp from my system and I keep getting the following message:
Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: hddtemp 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off
whereis -sbmu ] -SBM dir ... -f ] name...
Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]...
Try `grep --help' for more information.
..unused
error: %preun(hddtemp-0.3_beta15-10.pm.10.1.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 6
I remember that there was recently an update to hddtemp that I installed so I’m assuming that my problem has to do with this new rpm.
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to remove this package?

You give some (error) output, but you do not tell what you did. Call some tool and with what options/parameters?
I would do this with YaST > Software > Softweare Management, serach for hddtem, check it for removal and … But I know there there are other ways to do this.

Sorry I didn’t give more information. The way that I tried to remove it was using the method that you gave, using the YaST Software Management tool.

P.S.
Such errors are mostly packaging problems, so post your bugreport on the packman ML, instructions how to do that can be found here:
