Unable to login with LDAP user from lightdm

Hi everyone,

I am using OpenSUSE 12.3 with XFCE DE. I have configured cent OS as LDAP server and added OpenSUSE 12.3 as the LDAP Client. I am able to login with the LDAP user from the root terminal but unable to login from lightdm.

Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever figure it out? I’m running into the same issue.

If I set “greeter-show-manual-login=true” in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf I do not get a user field to type in an LDAP user’s name. Instead it continues to show only local users. I have also tried setting “greeter-hide-users=true” and that doesn’t work either. Instead a list of users, that just makes the logon screen show only a password field with no way to choose a user. I think technically both of these should be set. This is making me crazy.
