Hi,
I have been a big fan of suse and have been using it since 9.1 . I recently installed opensuse 11 64 bit on my T61P in dual boot with XP(For official work :shame: ).Dual booting worked like a charm and then one day I decided to format a 5GB FAT partition to NTFS using acronis and then at the next reboot I got a āGRUB 17 errorā So i popped in the DVD and started to repair/install a new GRUB BL. Immediately I got the error āunable to read partition table on /dev/sdaā but it reinstalled GRUB BL. Now the windows menu has been removed and when I log into suse and hit āfdisk -lā it says āUnable to seek /dev/sdaā.
If I could just find out the sda# i could add that to the GRUB menu and would be able to boot in to windows.
Luckily I had a windows XP handy and did a fixmbrā¦but now GRUB has gone
Thanks in advance
Akshay
