Hi everyone.
I tried to install Opensuse 12.2 64bit to have dual boot with windows 8 pro.
In the window that you choose on which partition to install Opensuse, in Opensuse installation, the installation wants to delete my windows 8 partition and format it. when I do it manually I get an error message which says that I have to delete windows 8 partition in order to install Opensuse.
I set 100GB partition for Opensuse.
When I tried Opensuse 32bit installation I don’t have this problem and I can install it along windows 8.
What am I doing wrong?
And how can I have both windows 8 pro (64bit) and Opensuse 12.2 64bit on the same computer with dual boot?
Looks like your Windows is installed in legacy BIOS mode, but you try to install openSUSE in UEFI mode. Try booting openSUSE installation DVD using legacy BIOS. You should see shiny bootsplash instead of white-on-black “Booting ELILO”.
32 bit version probably does not include UEFI support at all which is the reason why it works.
