unable to get wifi working with opensuse 12.3

I’ve purchased a new dell inspiron 3421 and have installed opensuse 12.3 in it. I am unable to get wifi working whereas wired connection works fine.
Here are my system details.:

Can some one help me in getting this working. ?

You need a wired connection to follow this
https://forums.opensuse.org/blogs/caf4926/install-broadcom-drivers-packman-90/

Did you, per the readme, reboot once after installing 12.3?

Good luck.

Still no luck… :(:frowning:

I have to sleep
But post result of

/sbin/lspci -nnk
uname -a
rpm -qa | grep broadcom

Please see the ouput below:

@kevinethomas77

hi,

in GB had no luck with wireless and openSUSE12.3 on an HP-g9 laptop until the
following lines were added to the file

/etc/resolv.conf

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
nameserver 2001:4860:4860::8888
nameserver 2001:4860:4860::8844

(root privileges needed) these are google servers

ymmbd

Regardless of the DNS servers mentioned above. Your wireless will not work until we get a driver loaded. Currently it’s not:
From here I see your device: b43 - Linux Wireless

|4e4:4365|no|BCM43142|?|LCN40 (r3)|wl|
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Please try

sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv wl

sudo /sbin/modprobe -v wl

If that doesn’t bring it to life
Please install rfkill
and do:

/usr/sbin/rfkill list

and post the result

For some reason I am still unable to get this working. Please check the results below which you have requested.:

========================================
linux-vmey:~ # sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv wl
linux-vmey:~ # sudo /sbin/modprobe -v wl
insmod /lib/modules/3.7.10-1.16-desktop/updates/wl.ko
linux-vmey:~ # /usr/sbin/rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

Many thanks for your help in this regard.

Please now can we see

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net
