This laptop doesn’t have a tray button but a hardware button instead. Modern times! I can’t capture the button code because at this time the distributions don’t support codes > 250, despite the kernel of course is receiving normally the message. Under suse 12.1 I wrote as turnaround a one line script with the bash command “eject”, then a key combination in xbindkeys. This time, under suse 12.2:
the user belongs to the cdrom group
sr0 present in /dev
cdrom unlisted in mycomputer
the command “eject” brings an overfow and freezes the X server by overload, even if given as su
the command works normally after login as root.
at level 3 works only as root, as user the console gets in tilt and reqires cntrl C.
any idea about this bug?
thanks in advance!
