Unable to download from YMP files

I’m having trouble downloading applications and whatnot from the OBS due to a recurring error that shows up every time I attempt to install from a downloaded YMP file.
This is what the error shows -

Internal error. Please report a bug report with logs.
Run save_y2logs to get complete logs.

Caller: /usr/share/YaST2/modules/XML.rb:168:in `XMLToYCPFile'

Details: Failed to load Module 'UserSettings' due to: Cannot find XML file

I would show the contents from the y2log folder, but I have no clue what information I’m supposed to recover, since there’s multiple logs, folders, and other contents that I don’t understand in there.

This is on opensuse tumbleweed version 20200622.

Use Firefox from the openSUSE repositories, it’s specially modified to understand what a YMP file is, and what to do with it.
the file is not meant to be opened by any other browser (AFAIK today. There was a discussion awhile back about modifying other browsers but AFAIK nothing actually was donce).

Although a YMP file can be downloaded, I don’t know that there is a good reason to do so except perhaps to inspect the file’s contents.
Better to just click on the “one click install” link in FF to activate and use the YMP file.

You are supposed to do exactly what error message tells you - run save_y2logs and attach resulting archive to bug report.

That was exactly what I did. I used Firefox to download and activate YMP files from the OBS, using the one click install links for packages and applications in the OBS.

Here is a site which is help to many people that you can download any type of data or any apk file so click here and get MYAPKLAB

Hello there,

I’m encountering the same bug, it’s a fresh install and I used Firefox to download the file, but I can’t open it, with the same error message as shown above.
I’m trying to install an older snapshot from Tumbleweed now, since it’s working just fine on another system.

I’m having the same problem . I have found the recent versions of tumbleweed extremely problematic where things dont run (steam for example) or wont install coming up with the errors as shown in the thread… ive just built a new ryzen 9 system. initially i though it might be down to secure boot so i removed that from the bios and also disable the functionality in the install… Ive installed Tumbleweed about 15 times already trying different things and all seem to do nothing… I had a version of opensuse that i ran on a very basic machine for the last 3 months before it got replaced and it ran flawlessly… I’m not sure if its the Build, UEFI or something else. Ive also noticed that none of the community repositories appear to be listed either which should be there anyway

Please let me know how you get on and what build works for you

General rule of thumb is that although a problem someone else posted might look the same as yours, it’s never certain.
And, if the Forum thread isn’t actively discussed, the problem for that person likely was resolved whether that’s made clear in the thread.

Viewers should look for possible answers to questions that have been asked before, but if that answer doesn’t work for you, you shouldn’t attach to that post.

Post your own question, and provide as much detailed information you can about your problem (If you can provide the information without being asked, saves a few rounds of asking for and posting info). Include any reference you might be usin (include links if possible), specific commands and things you tried, and results. The cross-hash button towards the end of the middle row of toolbars in your editor can highlight the input and output.

Your problem might look like someone else’ but might not.
Worst is if you mistakenly assume the problem you have will be fixed on its own and isn’t, so be free to ask your question.

Thank you for the clarification, but I did the exact same thing and got the exact same error message, so I think it’s very likely that it’s the same issue.
I’ve already created a bug report here and it’s being worked on the issue.

However, you are of course right, assuming that the issue you have is the same as someone else’s should just be done when you’re 100% sure. On the other hand, having the forum flooded with threads about the same issue isn’t good as well.

Has anyone managed to get a working version of this… Ive tried everybuild for the last few weeks and this issue appears to be present in everyone of them
