Hallo,
I am having a situation where I couldn’t connect to Internet through wireless and LAN cable. I have done ifconfig, it only shows me “lo” info. May I know how can I bring up the LAN and wireless?
THanks @!

You need to tell us a little more. What version of openSUSE do you use (11.2, 11.3, 11.4), 32 or 64 bit and what Desktop, KDE or GNOME. Then, what is your computer, brand and model? How are you posting online now? If Windows, can you visit the Control Panel, Device Manager and tell us the Direct and Wireless network connection hardware and brand name? How did you install openSUSE and is everything else working OK?
Thank You,
Sorry for giving so little information.
I am using OpenSuse 11.4, 32bit KDE edition. I was installing it in my HP laptop, model 6910p. I am posting this help through another PC. Before this, it is working fine, after the installation, I tested LAN and wireless, both can online. After I added the little icon at the bottom right of the screen, the look of the icon is just like a LAN socket in the computer. I think that must be some kind of system tray thing, which allow me to configure the network setting. That window title is called “Network configuration - System Settings”. When right click on that icon, I see Enable Network is tick, after I untick that, that icon gone, now I am not able to connect to Internet anymore, both LAN and wireless.
May I know how can I enable it back?
Hope this help.
