You save them from a system which had Windows OS?

no linux. but if so how would that effect it?

Yeahh I had the same problem as yours. I had transfered files from a windows system to my 16 Gb stick, I conected to my desktop who I have openSUSE and I wanted to erase a file, But nothing happens.
Check your stick of you have a windows autorun something like that.

it does have built in software, but i am afraid that if i remove software it wont work. the other stick doesnt have built in software and works fine

Check your stick of you have a windows autorun something like that.

With the USB drive mounted, what is the output of the ‘mount’ command?

Sounds like it’s being mounted read-only.

Just plug it in and run the command in a terminal window. You don’t need
anything other than to plug it in and run the command (you might run the
command with it plugged in and with it removed, just to make it easier to
identify which device is the USB flash drive).

That command you must run in terminal

mount

If the flash drive is anything like a Sandisk Cruzer then I would:
If you have access to a windows machine plug it into that, windows may/should fix any file system errors. Then run the urdrive.exe (in windows) and see if it gives the option of using the drive as just a flash drive as opposed to a storage device, which uses the kingston software. If it does then change it to a <just a flash> drive, and delete the programmes, re format in windows and safely remove. If you don’t normally use a windows machine it is still better IMHO to format as fat32 so you can use it in windows if needed.
If the above doesn’t work it has an uninstall programme on the disk - give that a go and see what happens

As I wrote in my post there is a autorun file in every stick which run with a windows system. This problem is general and the solution is one: Format in your linux.

I mean format USB in a linux system.

Oooh, that’s an outstanding suggestion - I had forgotten that some of the
newer USB flash drives are rigged so they can only be used with Windows
unless you jump through hoops to disable that urdrive software.
