Unable To Create Repository | Fresh Install

Hey guys, this has been troubling me for a while. I’ve looking everywhere possible but never found a solution except for ‘bad disc burn’ yet I’ve taken every precaution to make sure this wasn’t the case.

During the install right on the third step I get the dreaded “Unable to create repository from URL cd:///”
This is in fact a DVD install, next windows it gives me shows:

YaST
CD or DVD Media
Repository Name: ____________________
O CD-ROM
O DVD-ROM

[OK] [CANCEL]

I have done multiple md5sum checks and media tests and everything has always come up positive, I have even tried burning on 2 different brands of DVDs using the iso download from torrent and from ftp… I would really like to get this going, I’ve been on this for over 3 weeks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have a look at this page. Where does it go wrong?
Installation/11.1 DVD Install - openSUSE

I am having the same issue. The problem happens during the last part of Step 2: System Analysis at the Initialize Package Manager step.

The error in its entirety:

Unable to create repository from url 'cd:///?devices = /dev/sr0'

Details:
|] Valid metadata not found at specified url(s)

History:
-Can't copy /var/adm/mount/AP_0x00000001/media to /var/cache/zypp/raw/repositoryhlTpBr

-Can't procide /media1/media : Can't copy /var/adm/mount/AP_0x00000001/media to /var/cache/zypp/raw/RepositoryhlTpBr

Try again?

Have you run the media check from the dvd or cd?
