unable to connect to internet after software update

i installed suse 11.1 all worked fine until i did a software update now i cannot get on internet. i have no ip address when looking at ifconfig this has happened to 2 ethernet network cards i have installed
Netgear FA310TX
realtek rtl 8139 family pci f

can anyone point me to a fix for this i have tried reinstalling drivers all to no avail.

Have you tried to configure the card(s) in YaST?
(YaST–>Network Device–>Network Card)

Perhaps the settings were lost in the update.
