I am running OpenSuSE 11.3 on a Dell D810 laptop as a platform for the GNS3 network simulator. I am new to Linux and GNS3. When I attempt to connect to a real switch (Cisco 2950) through a GNS3 cloud, I get “206-unable to create Linux raw ethernet NIO”. The port configuration instructions specify “Linux Ethernet NIO (requires root access)”. How do I run the GNS3 GUI as root? Is there a better solution?
