as i recall from reading in these forums (somewhere) some phones have
two modes, one as a phone and another as a “storage device” and, when
the phone is in storage device mode it can’t be used as a phone, and
vice versa…

i do not know how to ‘flip’ your samsung from one mode to the other…i
do that with my Nokia’s keypad…

nor do i know how *buntu can connect to both modes at the same time (my
Nokia can only be in one mode at a time)…

i guess some time with google would fill my lack of knowledge in both of
those areas…might solve your problem also…

can i take screenshot and post

any screen shot you take should be posted to (say) imagebam and then the
URL posted in this thread…but, i’m not sure that would help you avoid
the self-research…unless another user of your exact Samsung model
phone happens by…WAIT, Samsung is not even in the subject…so, they
won’t know to look in…too bad.

sorry, i can’t help more than: it seems to me when you initially plug in
your samsung, the phone should ask you to “select mode”…at least my
Nokia does, and if i select “Data storage” the next thing that happens
is the device notifier pops up and gives me some options…

beyond that, i don’t know what else you should expect… sorry.

it’s okay Denver thanks for replying.my phone also ask me to select mode.in Opensuse both Gnome and kde i use the mode Samsung kies to connect mobile broadband.in Ubuntu i do the samething but it detects my internal and external memory of the phone.but in Opensuse it can’t be done.
