I have just installed opensuse 11.1 next to winxp on the same harddisk, but when i want to boot xp in grub, grub re-appears. also after 8 seconds (default) it starts to recount the 8 seconds again (xp is the first one). when i search in suse i found a folder called windows with all the xp files, but I can’t mount the partion like in (k)ubuntu. I had those previously installed and had no problems with booting xp.
I hope someone has an idea.

I had to use XP and suze 11.1 for about ten days.
There were several installations of the Suse 11.1 releases (auto updated )

Good Evening,
this link is for an article on GRUB in Linux Journal magazine. I subscribe to this magazine for only 24.99 per year and I found it to be an invaluable resource for fixing many of my problems with linux. Please read it in it’s entirety and I hope it helps.
I indeed changed the bootlist so that windows was default (via the graphic interface in opensuse), but I didn’t install opsuse inside windows. allthough the windowspartion was still mounted when I started the installation.
I tried every function with supergrub disk (except reinstall the windows bootloader) and because I don’t have the dvd (just the live cd) I can’t do the reinstallation via this way.
Maybe I can try to install the windows bootloader and continue with this link: Boot Multiboot openSUSE Windows (2000, XP, Vista - any mix) with Windows bootloader.
And thanks for the advice.
ps, is lilo an option? I don’t have any experience whit this bootloader (always had grub in ubuntu).
