Hello. I am unable to automount my Lexar Professional SDXC 128 GB card. I continually receive an ‘EXFAT’ error message: - Error mounting: mount: unknown filesystem type ‘exfat’ - I am currently running:
on an Acer Aspire ‘proto-ultrabook’ affectionately referred to as ‘The Blue Goose’. Any insight into how I am able to properly rectify this situation would be happily received. Semper Libre!
Gnome Version 3.2.1
Memory: 3.6 GiB
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz × 4
Graphics: Intel® Ironlake Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2
OS: 32-bit
I was able to overcome the same problem on Open SUSE 11.4 and 12.2 by installing the fuse-exfat package software.opensuse.org: .
On the 12.2 system, the package worked after the install when the card is inserted.
On the 11.4 system, I needed to execute as rootln -s /usr/sbin/mount.exfat-fuse /sbin/mount.exfat
to have the package work automatically upon card insertion.
I’m glad I came across your post. I was having trouble with openSUSE 12.1 and creating the link as your suggested got things working. Too bad the tip isn’t easier to find.
