Yes, you do :shame:
At first Dolphin was a lot slower than Konqueror (I have a 6-year old PC, so seconds count on my case). What keeps me from switching now is lack of some important features in Dolphin:
- profiles
- splitting window more than once
Or haven’t I just found them?
Have you really tried using the new menu? It felt a bit weird at first, but once you get used to it, there are some good points of it:
- it’s a bit more fool-proof as you can’t get lost so easily (going to another menu by accident…).
- especially useful is the search function in Kickoff
- docs’ and apps’ history
- favorites
I could grow to love Dolphin if it just gave me the ability to use my forward and back mouse buttons. I use Nautilus because it has this navigation feature built in. I installed Nautilus and it grabbed just enough libraries to make it work.
I also use GEdit, because KWrite has always crashed on me. I have tried it on several systems over the years and it works one time then crashes and will not work again till I reboot. Once it crashes, Kate won’t work either. Why can’t they fix this?
Other than these few little quirks, I love KDE 4.3.5 and recommend it highly.
