I recently installed the broadcom sta driver from packman (aka the wl driver) and when I rebooted I saw that the interface name is eth1. I looked at the 70-persistent-net.rules file and I read: KERNEL==“eth*”. The internet works but I always get a weak signal. Is it a problem that udev sees my wireless card as an ethernet card? If so, can I do something (like changing a file or type a command) or should I file a bug report?
No problem
I always get a weak signal
You should qualify that statement with ‘I am right next to the router’ or ‘I am in my shed down the garden’…

Driver wl always assigns the wireless device as “ethX”. If you do not like that,
change the udev rule. It causes no harm.
