Ubuntu also going Immutable like openSUSE MicroOS

Here is what Ubuntu is saying:

With the exception of Debian, I believe all the main Linux distributions will move in that direction. If someone wants a classic workstation or server, I believe their only choices are FreeBSD and Debian.

Tumbleweed isn’t going anywhere, whatever comes after Leap 15.5 is yet to be determined. I haven’t seen any noise out of the Fedora crowd about Workstation/Server going anywhere.

If the folks over at Mageia are working on an Immutable version, it’s news to me. I don’t believe the LinuxMint folks have anything in the works either, at least not that they’ve announced.

Non-Immutable distributions/versions of distributions are going to be around for a good long while.

I favor the conventional SUSE desktop since it gives the user more freedom and control from the installation stage and beyond. The installer is terrible with Debian-based systems. I currently use Tumbleweed, Leap, and MicroOS, but Leap is preferred for my use case.

I like leap too, stable and not change sharply. It means that I will not pay more attention to os and focus on my work
