So I just did a live update to get from 12.2 to 12.3 (I’m a little behind, I know) and when I began digging around to make sure that everything came out ok I found these two issues:
As allways, when joining a group of people one has to get used to their habits to make the maxiumum out of the group communication and the Forums are no exception.
Some advice on starting a thread:
The forums has a lot of (sub)forums. To draw the attention of the people that know most about your subject/problem, start the thread in the most fitting (sub)forum. In this case that would be the Install/Boot/Login forum imho.
Create a good tellng title for your thread. Just saying “I need help” in some form or another, does not tell anything because that is what these forums are for and 99% of the threads ask for help. People glancing through the titles, looking for something they can help with, have to open your thread to get any usefull information. There is a chance that they simply skip it
Then something you can not know. You tried to make your copied/pasted computer text readable by showing it in a different (fixed) font. We appreciate that very much. But the best way to do this is using CODE tags around it. You get the CODE tags by clicking on the # button in the tool bar of the post editor.
Then about your problem.
You said “I just did a live update to get from 12.2 to 12.3”. Can you please explain in more deetail what you did? There are sveral ways to go here (as so often in Unix/Linux) and we like top know which one you did. The more because to me it seems that you still may have a mix of repos active. To checkk for that please pos the output of
Your repos seem to be OK. Except that you have the debug and source repos enables, which is not something many users need.
I think wolfi323’a advice will help you past your direct problem. And as you repos seem to be OK, I do not expect further trouble. But when you have, please report back.
