Type1 fonts no longer supported?

Gnome 3.36.4

I recently upgraded from LEAP 15.1 to Tumbleweed. It was a bit rough, and I’ve mostly gotten the kinks smoothed away.

Type1 fonts, however, are still ignored. I have tried installing them; the installer says “Installing…,” then “Installed.” Except the fonts are not installed.

Is there some magic to Type1 fonts with TW?

Any specific reason (eg application) for these particular fonts? Which font packages are you referring to?

FWIW, an interesting article re Type 1 support for LibreOffice

  1. I like them.
  2. A couple are part of our company’s brand.
  3. Others have been used in current publications.

…and the package(s) in question?

That would explain why I do not see the fonts in LibreOffice. :frowning:
The Fonts app does display the fonts; they are indeed installed. Oddly Gnome Tweaks does not.

The fonts are individual files, PFB, PFM, and AFM.

FontForge may be of interest to you to assist with conversion perhaps?
