- How to modify the file /proc/version in opensuse 12.1
- how to make the progressbar of bootsplash 3.2 used by opensuse 12.1 move, it’s not moving at all now but the system starts properly
It would be helpful if you would use subject lines on your posts that are
meaningful. That will help draw attention to what the actual problem
is. “Two questions” doesn’t really tell anyone what it is that you’re
looking for.
Also, grouping multiple unrelated questions together generally makes
things more confusing and difficult for those trying to help you. Please
use a separate thread for unrelated questions.

You don’t, directly. The /proc filesystem is a dynamic filesystem that
has information generated by the system in it.
That particular node has the kernel version - so changing the version
means installing a different kernel.
What is it that you’re trying to accomplish?

You probably would need to switch to sysvinit - I’m guessing it doesn’t
move with systemd (haven’t really noticed it, though) because of the way
systemd starts up the system. But the boot should be relatively quick,
so this isn’t really a significant “problem” per se.

Install another kernel.

rather than this forum named “Looking For Something Other Than Support?”
with the sub-text of “If you are looking for manuals, books,
repositories, hardware, software, etc. this is the place to see if
someone can help you find it.”

Yes indeed, that is also true.
