Two kernels and a lot of problems.

Hello all,
I have 2 kernels(seen with uname -r command):
-2.6.25.20-jen70-default
-2.6.25.20-jen70-pae
Because of that i have some problems with some applications.
But now after i have upgradet this 2 kernels in normal mode doesn’t enter anymore.I can’t enter in Gnome.
When i enter in Failsafe here is the error on Sax2:

What can I do to go to previous state?
And also how can i use only one kenrnel, the other one to delete?
Thank you!

I can’t read anything on the your picture

which openSUSE do you have?

Wow that is a tiny picture, but it appears you are booted up already so
I don’t see how your kernel is the problem. Sure, you may have two
kernels on your system, but you’ll never ever boot with both of them…
you’ll always boot with whichever on you choose during bootup… GRUB
will will tell you which is the default and you can verify this in
/boot/grub/menu.lst (feel free to post contents here). Going back to
the kernel thing did you compile your own or something? Can you
copy/paste the screen where you ran the ‘uname’ commands, and try 'uname

  • -a’, posting the commands and their responses verbatim?

Good luck.

With the problem with sax2 i have managed to resolve the problem. The resolve is here(it’s an other threat open by me -sorry-:():White screen after boot - openSUSE Forums

I have only one request please: how can i ramain with only one kernel? What kernel is best??
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!

You assumed that your video problem was BECAUSE of having two
kernels. Which was wrong. You might have 30 kernels, you can still
only boot ONE at a time.

I GUESS you tried to install a virtual machine and with it also
installed the “pae” kernel.

No harm. But if you insist others can explain how to remove it. (It
is ONLY a little 2.1 meg file sitting there…NOT worth the trouble
to even find–much less take the chance of messing up your GRUB.)
