two harddrives dual boot win 7 and opensuse 11.3

hi i need help i have two physical hard drives and one has win 7 and the other opensuse 11.3 .currently if i need to boot into any of the drive i must restart pc then choose the drive i want to boot from via cmos. i tried the boot loader in yast and added windows as an option but when i boot from the suse drive it tells me no os found and goes to the win 7 drive .so i had to use rescue option and rewrite grub for it to boot into suse … now im scared to try something without consultation for i got work on both drives and cant afford to loose ant work … has anyone got any ideas …

su -
