Turn off hardware detection or initialization for tv card

Hello group,

I have a Toshiba Qosmio with an internal tv card. During boot, openSUSE 11.1 tries to initialize the tv card. While trying to initialize the unknown card, the process of booting hangs for many seconds. I don’t use the card and am not interested in using it in the near future.

I want to stop the boot process from trying to initialize this card. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get started?

I used hwinfo to find the offending module and I blacklisted it. The offending module being “cx18”.
