Tumbleweed TP-Link AC600 USB WiFi Adapter (Archer T2U Nano) fails to install fully

r8168 is also in the Packman Repo…

So disable my Repo and switch to Packman:

zypper mr -d Sauerland
zypper dup --allow-vendor-change --from packman
zypper rm r8168-ueficert

Another question:
have you tried another USB-Port?

Completed the three Zypper actions. Repo Sutherland remains in disabled state. Rebooted. Tried other ports. Tried second adapter - I have two. No evidence of power. lsusb shows that the adapter is plugged in and plugged into a different Bus from before.

And you have installed the new driver from the hardware Repo?

r8168 is an alternative driver for Realtek Ethernet Cards and has nothing to do with Wlan…

I want you only to have clean Repos…

New driver see Response 18. Here it is again

And?
Working?

No., not working. The absence of power to the adapter came after the new driver. Other usb devices - mouse and keyboard - still function

Have you tried Networkmanager?

Switched to Network Manager. Rebooted. Not working. Seems still no power. Shows up on lsusb. No where else. tried iw list, nothing. looked at ip a, where is showed up earlier but nothing

This is an absolute shot in the dark, but could this be one of this wifi adapters that need usb_modeswitch? You could try to install usb_modeswitch and attach your adapter afterwards to the usb port…wait some time until the switch is done…

I’ve been reading this saga. I have r8168 for ethernet and rtl8812au for my wifi (same make as yours) and I have no trouble with it in 15.4 and tumbleweed.
I download the latest rtl8812au (5.13.6) from github (morrownr’s) and I install it with dkms. morrownr’s latest works with kernel 6.1rc as well, and of course dkms automatically reinstalls it with a kernel update.
