Tumbleweed post install problems?

Hi all,

Changed over to tumbleweed after using 12.2 KDE. Used these repos:

1 | Tumbleweed, 2 | openSUSE Current OSS, 3 | openSUSE Current non-OSS
4 | openSUSE Current updates, 5 | packman-essentials

1.) Since the install apper icon in systray says I have 4 updates but they fail with errors:

patch:openSUSE-2012-588-1.noarch conflicts with kdm-branding-openSUSE.noarch < 12.2-11.8.1 provided by kdm-branding-openSUSE-12.2-2.20.noarch
patch:openSUSE-2012-587-1.noarch conflicts with gio-branding-openSUSE.noarch < 12.2-5.4.1 provided by gio-branding-openSUSE-12.2-2.2.noarch
patch:openSUSE-2012-685-1.noarch conflicts with kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE.i586 < 12.2-6.8.1 provided by kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE-12.2-2.7.i586

Anyone know what’s going on here?

2.) The kernel version is different to devel packages?? I can’t build vmware player modules at the moment?

kernel-devel-3.8.1-30.1.noarch
kernel-default-3.4.33-2.24.1.i586
kernel-default-devel-3.8.1-30.1.i586

**3.) **Re-installed virtualbox from tumbleweed repos, there’s no guest additions in /usr/share/virtualbox and yet it works? Also, ‘/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup’ says the kernel module is a package??

Any ideas, I’m a bit lost with these mysteries?

Cheers for any answers.

It’s been a month or two since I ran Tumbleweed but last I heard you are not supposed to use Apper with Tumbleweed. Instead you are supposed to use ‘zypper dup’ to update. This might be related to your issues?
