TUMBLEWEED on Intel NUC (Video and audio issues)

HI everybody,

as you can see english is not my language but i’ll try to explain my problems:

first of all the hardware: i’ve a Intel NUC with i3 processor that i’ve always used with mint. Now i want to test Opensuse ( TUMBLEWEED is my choice) but i’m experinecing a few issues (same issues had with mint but easly solved at the time)

  1. intel graphic drivers 1.4: i can not install them due to a missing library. i’ve read that intel drivers are included in suse but are they updated? how can i verify or update them?

  2. audio via hdmi is not working. yast show me two different audio card but none of these seem to work.

  3. i’ve a NAS on my lan that share different multimedia folder via NFS or SMB. Vlc (the player i’ve always used with all my distro) plays file (mkv, avi) with a super slow framerate, about 3 or 4 frame per second !!). is it a network issue? files copy seem to works fine and quickly, my lan is a Gb one.

Thank you in advance for your support
Fabian

Intel drivers are built into the kernel

Try changing the order of the drivers since card 0 is used by default also can install pavucontrol to control what driver/card gets used for what sound source

Note name of the distro “openSUSE” only open software is shipped so if you need to play proprietary formats you need to switch all multi media stuff tp packman. See the multimedia section of this forum for details.
