Tumbleweed freezes at coyping files to installed system step

It stays at 16% for half an hour now. Mouse can move, so it’s actually not frozen … but I can’t proceed.
Also - the hard disk indicator is flashing, so I guess it’s writing stuff to the disk indeed.

My hard disk setup is 2GB swap and the rest for /. Which is about 470~ GB.

Any ideas how to proceed? Or at least what to do when I try to install again?

I don’t know why that happened. I have seen something similar when installing to a virtual machine, but never with real hardware.

Well, after more time this timed out and then the installer showed message that there is an error and options to reboot or exit. So when I rebooted - I can boot into linux, but on the login screen I have no user and I cant login at all :frowning: …

Well not everything got installed and setup.

Don’t know why the freeze. Is this a net install. If so maybe internet problem or problem at mirror

Nope, it’s not a net install, but from a USB stick. Further more - I installed it without connecting to internet, to limit the possible causes even more.
And also - I ran check on the installation media and no errors were found.

Is there a way to check the hard disk from the installation USB? So that we clear this possibility from the list. I didn’t see such option in the installation wizard.

The screenshot you posted suggested the file copying is nearly complete… but I can’t remember any time I’ve seen an install reach that step at only 16%, usually it’s at least 30-40% of the total install.

Recommend just wiping the whole disk (remove all partitions) and start over.

Is the disk and SSD or HDD?
If an SSD, maybe the disk is full of traps that haven’t been cleared?
