OK…I’m sitting here shaking my head, typing to you on my MacBook pro again…! W$n 7 installed fine…OpenSUSE 11.4 installed fine…Mint Debian installed fine…All on that same PC! I attempted a clean “safe” install from DVD, formating the drive with EXT4 but it freezes at 1%. BTRF would not get that far. ANY opinion at all would really be great…I’m trying to ween myself from W$ndows and hope to land on Tumbleweed or Debian. Thankyou for reading.

Actually, in this case:
Check the timestamps. This person left because there was no answer in 
about an hour. How shocking!
The people who could help, many of whom live in different time zones, were either fast asleep during that hour, or were perhaps eating breakfast, supper, or in the middle of a job at their actual workplace.
… or, maybe they were stuck on the toilet for that hour.lol!
Since the help here comes from us other users as voluntary help, it is not always instantaneous.
